L'omonimo disco d'esordio del trio Milk esce per la Philology di Paolo Piangiarelli, producer sempre con le antenne rivolte verso le novità intriganti. E anche questo avvistamento sembra essere di quelli in grado di suscitare interesse, dal momento che la seduta di registrazione di quest'album - datata luglio 2009 - ha dato alla luce dieci brani entusiasmanti.

Tutti composti e arrangiati dal vertice alto del triangolo: il bassista Roberto Pascucci. Perché è il suo strumento - sia in veste acustica che elettrica -, insieme a un'accurata serie di iniezioni elettroniche, a recitare la parte di primo attore in diversi passaggi, come nelle veloci e movimentate "The Unspoken" e "The Hidden Zone," mentre sui tempi morbidi il tema principale passa, acquisendo eleganza, attraverso i tasti del pianista Gabriele Petetti ("Cristina's Peaceful Sleep").

Le melodie sono al centro dell'organizzazione sonora dei Milk. I loro brani rilasciano spesso il feeling da perfetta soundtrack, evocando ora situazioni convulse ("Freak Factor"), poi scenari ampi e spaziosi ("Music Behind Bars"), per poi perdersi piacevolmente nelle emozioni della toccante "Esbjorn's Lesson," il cui titolo è rivelatorio di alcune delle coordinate stilistiche a cui aspira il gruppo.
