About Me
My Jazz Story
I love jazz because it has room for improvisation and freedom of expression, which I enjoy both as a performer and listener
I was first exposed to jazz in my teens when I was introduced to Keith Jarrett's European quartet in 1983.
I met Benny Golson at his master-class when I studied Jazz Performance at McGill University in 1994.
The best show I ever attended was with danish keyboardist, Morten Schantz, at Vetrarjazz (Winter Jazz) in the Faroe Islands in 2018.
The first jazz record I bought was Keith Jarrett - My Song.
My advice to new listeners is to have an open mind to new listening experiences - think outside the box.
