Emma Smith is a highly versatile British jazz singer. She’s equally stand-out when performing sultry ballads, slinky funk/R&B, original cabaret tunes and with orchestral backing. Smith is at her most engaging delivering material with a wink and a smile. She was bestowed the UK Parliamentary Jazz Award for Jazz Vocalist of the Year, named Jazz Act of the Year at the Jools Holland Boisdale Music Awards, and designated First Runner-Up at the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition. On "Sister Sadie." composed by Horace Silver, the alto sizzles with attitude along with Yonatan Riklis on Hammond organ and Yonatan Rosen on drums. Smith's incredible sense of phrasing makes every bar swing.
