Gabrielle Stravelli, a versatile vocalist and songwriter, seamlessly blends jazz with modern sensibilities, showcasing a unique style marked by unexpected choices. She kicked off 2024 headlining the Jazz on the Mountain Festival in New Paltz, NY and throughout 2023 she held several month-long residencies at Birdland Jazz Club. 2023 also brought her third collaboration with renowned pianist Fred Hersch, recording his newest song cycle, along with a tour of Chile, an appearance in the 92nd St Y’s Lyrics & Lyricists series and headlining appearances at the 2023 Cayman Arts Festival and the 2023 Delaware Water Gap COTA Jazz Festival. As a US State Department “Jazz Ambassador” since 2015, she has performed and taught throughout Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and South America. “Dream Ago,” her 2017 release which consists primarily of original material, received a rare 5- star review from Downbeat Magazine and her 2019 release “Pick Up My Pieces: Gabrielle Stravelli Sings Willie Nelson” was featured by noted music critic Will Friedwald in the WSJ and awarded the 2020 Bistro Award for Outstanding Recording. “Ms. Stravelli’s emotional intelligence coincides with a phenomenal voice that she wielded with an easygoing confidence and impeccable taste.” -The New York Times
