From the album "In Fading Light" (Tania Giannouli trio, Rattle records 2020) Tania Giannouli (piano, composition) Andreas Polyzogopoulos (trumpet) Kyriakos Tapakis (oud) Pianist, composer and bandleader Tania Giannouli, accompanied by Andreas Polyzogopoulos (trumpet) and Kyriakos Tapakis (oud) forms a unique trio, performing exciting original compositions of an idiosyncratic blend of music, blurring the boundaries between East and West, contemporary, world and jazz. Tania Giannouli trio premiered at the legendary Jazzfest Berlin in 2018. The American Downbeat magazine described their music as “compelling melodies with rolling momentum … like Manfred Eicher’s dream of a Mediterranean holiday” and the German JAZZTHETIK cited their Berlin concert among the best of 2018.
