About the Album
"Tips in Baghdad" borrows from Tom's experience touring in Iraq, where he used the frame drum played in a Mesopotamian style. He combines this with a New Orleans second line (ish) drumkit part inspired by his time playing at the famous NO club Tippatinos. Dave Ballou works some magical, groovy trumpet work on top. The entire record was recorded on a lunch break from Tom's schedule, recording an educational video for the companies he represents.
