About the Album

This is a fun little boogaloo that I wrote in tribute to the great Ronnie Cuber. He had recorded a boogaloo with the same form , "New Orleans 1951" with the same AABA form - Blues on the A sections and Rhythm Changes on the bridge. The title came about because of my bandmate, Ted Warren's disdain for the term "Kick Drum".
