About the Album
Earlier this year saxophonist, flutist and composer Jason Robinson released Ancestral Numbers, which combined jazz and genealogy to create what Glenn Astarita of All About Jazz called "a deep, reflective conversation with history itself.” Now Robinson has released the second volume of this unique family history told through music. Like the first volume, Ancestral Numbers II finds Robinson joined by a cast of equally adventurous and accomplished musicians: trombonist Michael Dessen, pianist Joshua White, bassist Drew Gress and drummer Ches Smith.
