About the Album
A short but striking piece from Brodie McAllister's 'Wattle".
‘Wattle' is a large ensemble work by Brodie McAllister, formed in the spirit of communal music-making and built upon the language developed within previous ensembles DÜT (McAllister/Rogers/Saragossi) and the Hill/McAllister/Perkins Trio. The music here (both composed and improvised) ranges from the beautiful to the ugly, and everything in between.
‘Wattle' is a modest exploration of uncharted sonic terrain, inspired by explorations of nature and place while attempting to reconcile jazz traditions with contemporary classical experimentations.
Embrace the unassuming journey, in testament to artistic collaboration and a sincere attempt to converge with sound and texture in a language uniquely its own.
