About the Album
Mikkel Ploug explores the qualities of his classic Gibson acoustic guitar in this partly composed, partly improvised piece, alternating between improvisation and different composed sections. A strong vocal-type melody evolves from what starts out as a snaky chromatic line. A number of themes are developed through constant harmonic movement, resolving in a memorable refrain.
Nocturne; Daybreak; Over the Hills; Day in the Sun; Rosette; Robledo; April; Dance of Minor Motive; Afterthought; Mosaic; Hymn in E; Barcarola; Nighttide; Isolde’s Song.
