Sudo Quarte: Léandre - Zingaro - Tramontana - Lovens: Live at Banlieue Bleue

Chi voglia ascoltare musica libera improvvisata sugli stilemi che si svilupparono in Europa dalla fine degli anni Sessanta, che negli anni Settanta raggiunse il culmine della propria vitalità, può rivolgersi senza esitare a questo disco. Quattro veterani dell'improvvisazione rinnovano il loro incontro in questo concerto, registrato nel marzo 2011 alla Salle Pablo Neruda di Bobigny durante il festival Banlieue Bleue, e mostrano i muscoli, l'anima, la forza espressiva che questa musica continua a sviluppare.

Tutto si impernia su un rapporto tra musicisti rodato, ben sedimentato negli anni, profondo, dove la conoscenza di Sebi Tramontana e Paul Lovens rappresenta una prima fase, a cui segue il lavoro del trombonista con Joëlle Léandre e Carlos Zingaro, con la registrazione di un disco in trio, poi una successiva registrazione, a Banlieue Bleue, con Irene Schweizer in qualità di ospite speciale.

Cos'altro si può dire? Che è un incontro tra colossi. Che il nostro Sebi Tramontana è tra i pochi musicisti italiani davvero coinvolti in una scena europea e internazionale di grande pregio e vitalità. Che è un piacere riascoltare Paul Lovens, poco presente nella pur debordante produzione odierna di musica. Che i quattro sanno narrare una storia. Cosa sempre necessaria nell'improvvisazione, nella musica, nell'arte. E lo fanno con senso drammatico, della struttura, della sorpresa, del reciproco stimolo a palleggiarsi tale narrazione, a fonderla nelle eterofonie più audaci, nelle modulazioni che vanno dal duo al trio, all'insieme.

Ascoltarli è davvero un'avventura avvincente. Una lode particolare va all'etichetta NoBusiness, che seleziona e diffonde con passione tali gioiellini.
