Helena Tulve: Lijnen
I primi due brani dell’album, “à travers” per ensemble e il più recente “Lijnen” per voci e ensemble, rappresentano rispettivamente la fase di debutto e apice della carriera della compositrice in cui è, sicuramente, possibile rintracciare continuità tanto con la scuola estone, quanto anche con un certo "mood" della musica spettrale francese.
Stranamente calda la voce di Arianna Savall in “Lijnen”, metallico e lucente lo Stockholm Saxophone Quartet in “?-ö”, più cupo il Silesian String Quartet in “nec ros, nec pluvia”, il NYYD Ensemble diretto da Olari Elts, in “abysses” e “cendres”, sembra essere il migliore interprete di una Tulve devota all’espressione musicale più inquieta e destabilizzante. Il flauto di "abysses", suono dell’anima persa negli abissi, si insinua infingardo nelle maglie ossessive della tela tessuta dalla Tulve.
