Jurg Wickihalder European Quartet feat. Irene Schweizer: Jump !
Un risultato inferiore alle attese se si considera la formidabile formazione allestita, che vede impegnata al pianoforte Irene Schweizer. La presenza di quest'ultima serve a risollevare un po' l'esercizio stilistico del leader, che pare incapace di dare un'impronta forte e personale alla musica che si sente in questo disco.
Ma, nell'insieme, l'articolazione melodica, dinamica e timbrica di brani non si eleva al di sopra di una prudente circospetta navigazione lungo il free storico. È la testimonianza di come questa corrente possa diventare estetizzante al pari del mainstream, se non sostenuto da idee forti e visionarie.
