Joe Russo's Almost Dead debute at Channel 24 in Sacramento
JRAD came out swinging. Set one opened with "Good Morning, School Girl" and rolled into a driving "Bertha," an electric "St. Stephen," and a ripping "Watchtower." "Scarlet Begonias" glowed, and "I Know You Rider" had the whole room lifted.
Set two kept the pedal down. "Cats Under the Stars" soared, "Big River" and "Saint of Circumstance" hit hard, and "China Cat Sunflower" into "Samson and Delilah" was pure joy. "Lay Down Sally" closed the night with a smile.
Standouts: "St. Stephen," "I Know You Rider," "Cats Under the Stars," "China Cat Sunflower," "Samson and Delilah," and the encore "Lay Down Sally."
A clean, no-frills room, space to boogie, and a band firing on all cylinders. Sacramento has a real gem in Channel 24, and JRAD broke it in right.
