JAZZ FUSION

Love merely a whisper
A shadow in the mind
Breaks thru with music
Totally sublime.

Thus what we had together
Still active in song
Floods me with an ecstasy
Listening til dawn.

The beauty in our trade-off
Traced thru these poems
Lives in jazz fusion:

The energy of the sun
Times an infinity of galaxies
Caught in those tunes.

JEWEL-ENCRUSTED LID

Reaching thru the cobwebs
To raise the jewel-encrusted lid
Within which rests the symbol:
The saxophone channels breathing
Into the perfect poem/bed.

For all the love I feel for you
Keeps flowing thru those songs;
Rich the beauty of our merging
As bass and drum beat on,
Alive, and flowing energy
I feel you in every song.

Thus what we had as passion
In every tune plays on:
Overwhelming beauty
The best gift that I own.

THAT SPECIAL SPOT

Have you any idea, the pain
Suffering this solitude
Tho no one I can blame.
I do wish that you'd hold me.
Untie the knot of restrictions,
Fill me with that energy again:
A fantasy I indulge in
Listening as Miles Smiles
And beauty roams thru my brain.

For all the pain you caused me
Is nothing compared to the artistry
You opened as you played,
And there you stored your love for me:
I feel it every day,
That special spot in my brain
Steaming with the music
Calling out your name.
