Alessio Alberghini - Tiziano Zanotti: Influences

Con questo Influences quello che sembra che Alessio Alberghini e Tiziano Zanotti ci vogliano comunicare è la rilevanza della conoscenza del passato e del presente, dimostrata usando soltanto composizioni altrui, di musicisti che hanno scritto i loro capolavori a distanza di decenni l'uno dall'altro, da Bird a John Scofield passando per Herbie Hanckock e Joe Henderson.

Tuttavia non manca l'originalità di approccio, grazie al suono molto aperto del sax soprano di Alessio Alberghini, che evita i modelli contemporanei più seguiti al suo strumento, dimostrando che alla fine quel che conta è la propria visione musicale e come con questa ci si possa confrontare con chi il jazz l'ha fatto diventare una musica d'arte.

I due vanno insieme benissimo anche senza uno strumento ritmico: l'assenza della batteria lascia vuoto uno spazio di cui si impossessano con la giusta convinzione, trattando i brani con una sorta di affetto che ha del contagioso. Risultano lirici, coinvolgenti, sensibili nel dare un contenuto ai brani scelti, al servizio di una visione comune. Entrambi bravissimi agli strumenti, ma pure, che è quel che più conta, molto ispirati in questa occasione.
