Govinda + Ananda Gari feat. Mark Turner: Incipit
Le sedute di registrazione condotte a Brooklyn hanno dato vita a brani caratterizzati da melodie di grande cantabilità, come quella di "Next Worlds #1" dove a lasciare il segno è il sax di Turner, nei quali non manca la giusta dose di ricerca e introspezione, come in "Next Worlds #2," dai lineamenti vagamente fusion, se non altro per il buon intervento di Govinda Gari al piano elettrico.
Nelle partiture di Incipit filtra molta aria fresca. Troviamo idee ritmico-melodiche ed arrangiamenti complessi ma sempre comprensibili, leggerezza espressiva che non rasenta mai l'ovvietà e non si rifugia in situazioni troppo comode. A giocare un ruolo importante è anche la chitarra di Luca Nostro, che non intralcia mai i primi piani, spesso riservati a Turner e al suo delizioso registro acuto, e che ben si amalgama al lavoro d'insieme.
L'album conosce anche momenti di grande pacatezza e sensibilità espressiva, come in "In Loving Memories," brano che chiude Incipit e ne sottolinea lo spessore artistico.
