Sunny Murray, Bob Dickie, Robert Andreano: Homework
Meglio vanno le cose nei brani in trio, in particolare in "Good Things," dove Andreano sostituisce al contrabbasso Dickie, che passa al clarone. Un po' ovunque domina un clima scuro, cupo, talora anche un po' confuso, involuto, per quanto non privo di un suo fascino, anche se qua e là l'impressione che la si tiri un po' troppo per le lunghe si fa palpabile. Oltre al citato brano con variazione di organico, si fa più del resto apprezzare anche "Memorial Day," non a caso di durata a sua volta "umana," mentre il conclusivo "In" è un puro aforisma di commiato.
Pur riconoscendo il valore documentario della dissepoltura, a suo tempo i nostri tre eroi avrebbero potuto fare onestamente qualcosa di più e di meglio per farsi consegnare alla storia.
