Ekkehard Wölk Ensemble: Homage to Nino Rota
L'approccio agli spunti melodici del compositore milanese è infatti molto libero e riesce a dare nuova linfa a brani che, essendo parte integrante di capolavori della cinematografia mondiale, sono sedimentati e consolidati nella nostra memoria collettiva.
Il rischio insito in operazioni di questo genere è infatti quello della riproposizione agiografica e acritica di musiche intrinsecamente esatte e che quindi necessitano di una mano forte, di un trattamento deciso e straniante.
Non a caso, quando il gruppo si accosta al testo in modo fedele (ad esempio "Giulietta degli Spiriti"), la musica perde di incisività, mentre le tracce più riuscite sono quelle che, per atmosfera ed interpretazione, più si discostano dalle musiche originali (la "Sicilian Pastorale," o "Il Matto"). E sarebbe certo curioso rivedere i classici felliniani commentati da questa nuova 'colonna sonora.'
