Cosa si ottiene incrociando il mondo classico con la sintesi jazzistica degli anni '20? Secondo Alessandro Galati, l'essenza dell'arte gershwiniana. Un progetto senza dubbio ambizioso, rivolto ad evidenziare il tessuto post-romantico e più in genere del mondo eurocolto (Chopin, Brahms, Debussy, Satie) che Gershwin incorporava nel suo fitto bagaglio artistico, insieme al jazz e canzone popolare americana.

In tale ottica va affrontato questo disco, che forse non piacerà molto agli appassionati di jazz poiché di questo c'è poco. La fusione tra le due componenti non avviene per via della predominanza della componente classica, in quanto ad approccio esecutivo, tocco, fraseggio e pensiero musicale. Ne risulta quindi un'opera che pur rischiando di andar controcorrente - e per questo ammirevole - fa tuttavia rimpiangere le interpretazioni jazzistiche in serie di Gershwin.
