Maniscalco, Bigoni, Solborg: Foil
Certo su disco le cose si complicano non poco, venendo meno la complicità del luogo e la gestualità degli interpreti, per una musica che richiede particolare attenzione, giocata com'è sulle sfumature, sui sussurri, sulla raffinatezza delle trame.
Ma è sufficiente lasciar da parte preconcetti e categorizzazioni (Jazz da camera? Musica da camera contemporanea? Folk contemporaneo?) ed ascoltare con mente libera per entrare in un mondo musicale apparentemente ostico e poter apprezzare le bellezze dispensate dagli undici brani proposti. Nei quali si ritrovano sottili melodie che si sciolgono lentamente nel silenzio, minuscole oasi di riverberi cristallini, sofisticate soluzioni timbriche e un delicato equilibrio tra scrittura e improvvisazione, con i tre musicisti in intima conversazione, bravi a mettere la loro maestria strumentale al servizio delle idee.
