3Bpm: First Hearing
Un mix di tracce che attinge al pop, al rock, al blues, alla tradizione, suonato in allegria, con un sottofondo latino che, quanto a gradevolezza, non è secondo a nessuno. Il repertorio jazzistico è affrontato solamente in due brani, uno a firma di Pat Metheny, l'altro a firma di Kenny Wheeler. Il tutto scorre placido, senza scossoni o sussulti. Rassicurante, da ascoltare in sottofondo (il che è un ossimoro, ma appunto ...), bevendo qualcosa in compagnia.
Un disco come tanti, insomma. Nelle tre composizioni originali (tutte a firma di Pickett) si intravede qualcosa di più. E' solo un accenno. Vedremo se il trio avrà la capacità ed il coraggio di svilupparlo verso qualcosa di più interessante.
