Do It Today

Since we first launched All About Jazz nine years ago, we've thrown the doors wide open to anyone who shares our passion for jazz. Whether you're new to AAJ or a seasoned veteran, you found your way here one way or another. Maybe it was a Google search or a link from a musician's web site. Could have been a recommendation from a fellow jazz fan, or maybe you bumped into one of our writers in a club.

And in the process of amassing almost 100,000 pages of web content, we've come to rely on an international staff of contributors to bring us fresh insight on a daily basis. We've also endeavoured to make all that information easy to find, so that it's not only interesting but also fun to visit All About Jazz. Every day, without exception, we offer something new. We've never asked readers to pay a cent for any of this. And that isn't about to change.

But we need your help.

Without an infusion of much-needed cash, we won't be able to complete several important site improvements. That includes the centerpiece, a technology we call my.allaboutjazz.com. We want to bring dynamic, regularly updated, personalized content to every one of the half-million or so visitors who stop by each month. We want to improve the usefulness of the site for teachers and students, and expand the accessibility of our content for visually-impaired readers. And we want to bring musicians closer to fans who will appreciate their work.

One of the great advantages of the internet is its speed and flexibility, and those of you who have been with us for a while know we have always made it a point to constantly improve the way we connect people with music. High quality programming is expensive, and the income we receive from advertisers barely covers our maintenance costs.

Once you've seen the huge variety of material we offer free of charge, consider this. We exist to serve creative musicians who account for a tiny proportion of the global market. Our volunteer staff works overtime out of sheer love for the music. Our take on the world of jazz is fiercely independent, totally dedicated, and creative as hell. We've come up with some great ideas for the future, but we won't be able to realize them without your help.

You have the power to make it happen. Think of it as an investment in your future.

Do it today.
