Anthony Wilson: Campo Belo
Il titolo dell'album e la nazionalità dei tre partner non ci devono ingannare, questo è un lavoro di jazz americano dove la musica brasiliana è presente sostanzialmente nello spirito e nella freschezza, senza allargarsi ad altro. Insomma non ci troviamo di fronte ad una riproposizione meticciata di Bossa Nova e Samba, anche se è evidente che l'aria brasiliana ha fatto molto bene al lavoro compositivo del chitarrista losangelino, allargandone lo spazio e aggiungendo spezie profumate.
I tre giovani musicisti brasiliani sono molto ben assortiti e suonano assieme con grande senso dell'interpaly, fornendo al chitarrista il giusto contesto per mettere in evidenza le sue doti di chitarrista moderno che si iscrive nel solco della chitarra jazz di Jim Hall, di Kenny Burrell, di Grant Green.
