All About Jazz Musician Page Policy

We want to clarify the distinction between two different types of pages on All About Jazz: member pages and artist profiles. Member pages can be deactivated / deleted while artist profiles are owned by All About Jazz.

Member Pages (User Accounts)

If you have created a member account, we are happy to honor your request to remove it. Just let us know, and we will proceed accordingly.

Musician Pages (Editorial Profiles)

Musician pages, however, are part of All About Jazz’s editorial and archival infrastructure. These pages are not user-owned profiles—they are part of our independently produced database that documents artists, recordings, and the broader history of jazz.

As such, musician pages:

• Are maintained as part of our editorial mission and public archive
• Are interconnected with articles, album reviews, interviews, photos, and other published content
• Function as permanent reference points within a large, structured ecosystem

Removing a musician page would not only disrupt this structure but also compromise the integrity of published editorial content across the site.

For these reasons, we do not remove musician pages upon request.

That said, we are committed to accuracy and fairness. If there are specific concerns—such as factual errors, outdated information, or sensitive material—we are more than willing to review and update the page as appropriate.

Additionally, All About Jazz operates as a designated agent under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and complies with applicable safe harbor provisions. If your request involves copyrighted material, we will promptly review and act on properly submitted DMCA notices.
