1. Find Your Publicity Firm Page
Start by visiting our Publicity Firm Directory on Jazz Near You and locating your company.
Select your firm's name to open its page. If your business isn't listed, you can create a publicity firm page for free.
Your publicity firm page brings together your business information, published announcements, musician and business clients, client coverage and All About Jazz record service recipients.
2. Explore Your Publicity Firm Page
Several sections of your page help you manage information and monitor activity.
Posts
The Posts tab displays your firm's announcements published through the All About Jazz News Center.
Clients
The Clients tab displays the musicians and businesses associated with your publicity firm. From here, you can access related articles and manage your client relationships.
Client Coverage
The Client Coverage tab provides a convenient way to review recently published articles associated with your clients.
Service Recipients
The Service Recipients tab displays the All About Jazz contributors included in your record service list. You can explore their published work, access available contact information and follow contributors.
3. Add or Remove Clients
Keeping your client list current helps ensure that the coverage associated with your firm reflects the musicians and organizations you represent.
Musician Clients
- Open your publicity firm page.
- Select the Clients tab.
- Choose Add a Musician Client.
- Begin entering the musician's name and select the appropriate entry from the suggested results.
- Confirm the addition.
To remove a musician you no longer represent, locate the client in your list and use the corresponding remove option.
Business Clients
You can also associate your firm with business clients, including record labels, venues and festivals.
- Open your publicity firm page's update form.
- Locate the appropriate business client section.
- Search for and select the organization you represent.
- Save your changes.
Maintaining these relationships helps connect relevant articles and news announcements to your firm's client coverage.
4. Track Published Client Coverage
There are two convenient ways to locate coverage associated with your clients.
From Your Publicity Firm Page
Open the Client Coverage tab to review recently published coverage associated with your musician and business clients.
You can also use the Clients tab to access articles related to individual clients.
Using Article and News Search
All About Jazz also provides a By Publicity Firm filter in its article and news searches.
- Open the Articles or News section.
- Access the available search options.
- Locate the By Publicity Firm filter.
- Select your firm and run the search.
The results will display matching coverage associated with your firm's clients.
For the most useful results, keep your client relationships current as artists and organizations join or leave your roster.
5. Manage Your Record Service Recipients
Your publicity firm settings include an All About Jazz Record Service Recipients section for maintaining the contributors you service with recordings, promotional materials or concert coverage opportunities.
- Open your publicity firm page and access its update form.
- Locate the All About Jazz Record Service Recipients section.
- Add contributors you currently service or remove those who are no longer relevant to your outreach.
- Indicate each writer's preferred music format, such as physical recordings or digital submissions, where applicable.
- Use the available notes field to maintain information about your writer relationships.
- Save your changes.
The information entered in the record service management section is intended for your own use and is not displayed publicly on your publicity firm page.
Once your list is established, the Service Recipients tab provides convenient access to your selected contributors and their published work.
6. Find Writers Who Cover Your Clients' Music
All About Jazz contributors have different musical interests and specialties. Understanding those preferences can help you identify writers whose interests align with your clients.
Explore our Contributors by Genre directory to find writers by musical style. You can also browse our Staff Directory to learn more about individual contributors and read their previous articles.
Reviewing a writer's work before making contact can help you prepare more relevant requests and maintain productive professional relationships.
7. Request Editorial Coverage
When you have an album, interview opportunity, festival or performance you believe would interest an All About Jazz contributor, use our free Coverage Request system.
For album review requests, we recommend reading A Guide to Getting Your Music Reviewed at All About Jazz before submitting.
Coverage requests are considered according to each contributor's musical interests, editorial judgment and availability. Submitting a request does not guarantee coverage, and All About Jazz does not charge for editorial reviews.
Keep Your Publicity Firm Information Current
In addition to managing clients and contributors, remember to review your firm's business information periodically. An accurate logo, description, contact details and website links help musicians, organizations and other industry professionals learn about your services.
