Celano - Baggiani Group: Alienology
L'album riserva diversi momenti d'assoluta ispirazione, come quelli che caratterizzano la dinoccolata "Binocular Eyeglasses, New Prescription," ma anche percorsi più lineari e distesi, dove le melodie levigate, dalla grande cantabilità, prendono il sopravvento risolvendo un ascolto altrimenti eccessivamente contorto. Si prenda ad esempio un brano come "Alien Song," dove è un morbido tema il fulcro sul quale la band, capace anche di servire pietanze dal sapore più aspro ("Shibboleths"), mette insieme l'intelaiatura creativa necessaria per uno sviluppo formale mai contraddittorio.
Da sottolieneare il lavoro dei due leader, dal momento che entrambi - sia Celano alla chitarra che Baggiani alle percussioni - riescono a supportare la forte carica espressiva emanata dai fiati di Michael Moore e Gorka Benitez, due interpreti che insieme o in solo riescono a innescare quell'equilibrio tra ordine e situazioni cervellotiche che caratterizza l'intero lavoro.
