Album Description

With his new album, Sunshine Fruit, Stockholm based artist Bear Garden presents a clear musical idea. Working together with eight wind musicians, Bear Garden challenges the way wind instruments are normally used. Led by his own distinct tenor saxophone, they form voices that constitute Bear Garden´s expressive compositions. By confronting coherent melodies with repetitive arpeggios, Bear Garden creates rhythmical patterns inspired by the timeless sound of Motown and the contemporary Icelandic music scene. Another theme on the album is the friction between old and new ideas; between using established approaches and looking for new paths.
