Album Description
We used to meet at the Rat Cave on Tuesday afternoons to rehearse Francisco's original tunes and work up repertoire. Kelton informed me that since I was hosting it was my job to bring the donuts.
Seven years of gigs and Donut Tuesdays later, we convened at Tonal Park on Labor Day, 2025. At our request, Don recorded us in one room with minimal sound isolation. We hoped to document what had become our standard club set as honestly as possible without edits or overdubs, and thanks to Don and Francisco that is exactly what you hear.
I brought the donuts.
It is due in no small part to this rawness that the recordings evoke many happy memories of the fun I have had playing and learning with these brilliant and original people. I hope that you can share in this celebration of listening, improvisation, and brotherhood through the performance of some of our favorite songs.
Having satisfyingly laid down our set, we are looking forward to learning and writing new music and doing it all again.
