Album Description
For over twenty years, Simon and Magella have played together across various projects and recorded several studio sessions of duo improvisations on keyboards and drums. Singularités is the expression of a musical bond that has only grown stronger over the years – uncompromising experimental music drawing from free jazz, fusion, and even metal. All tracks are improvisations. On some pieces, sections were looped and an additional keyboard track was layered in.
Improvisations recorded at Studio Magma (Notre-Dame-de-Bonsecours) on June 28 and July 12, 2024. Arrangements, mixing and overdubs produced at Studio 1982 (Longueuil) by Simon Côté-Lapointe, June–July 2025. Mastering, graphic design and cover booklet images: Simon Côté-Lapointe.
