pianoAlbum Description
Mr. Wollman has created a nice groove for himself in what could be termed "Island Jazz". With a nice melodic touch he weaves his way through an album of mostly originals. He stretches out more as a writer and arranger compared to his earlier recording, "Bimini". "Survive" and "All My Dreams" are perfect examples of Island or smooth jazz. If you like Earl Klugh you'll dig it. The Michael McDonald tune "Our Love" actually has Michael on background vocals. There's enough similarity so you'll recognize the tune, but there's enough of a fresh approach that you'll find it entertaining. "Buckwheat Shuffle" may take some getting used to from the "gritty" guitar sound but the groove the band supplies makes up for it. My favorite is "Cancun". It's a toe-tapping, wind-in-your-hair, beautiful day type of song. Mr. Wollman's solos never get cluttered or get in the way. What "Bimini" started, "Say Yes" finishes. (I actually gave it 4 and 1/2 stars, but there was no half star to show on my rating). Enjoy "Say Yes".
