Album Description

Odonata is the second full lenght album from the composer and horn player Klas Jervfors Turner a.k.a. KJT. The music on the album is a mixture of Jazz, Swedish folk music, Reggae, Funk, AfroBeat and Latin. The idea to make Odonata arose due to the longing of Klas and his wife to have a mutual child together and the four miscarriages that they suffered because of that longing. As an expression of his grief, Klas wanted to write music that tried to capture his and his wife's images of the unborn children’s souls and at the same time also tried to musically describe the grief that each miscarriage led to. When writing music for his unborn children it only felt natural to write music and pay tribute to each one of the five lovely children that Klas and his wife have from previous marriages. Klas tried to find something in each song that fit each child's personality. A few other tunes that Klas composed over the last years made the recording to a full-length album and helped tie together the tunes into a entirety. And finally, to complete the album: "Writing a tune to my beloved wife was something I’ve tried to do for years, but I had to wait for a hot summer day in Bobygda, Hälsingland in the year of 2020 when the music suddenly came to me." The last tune of the album is a warm musical description of his wife and Klas' love for her.
