Dion Kerr’s latest release “Ivy” displays his unwavering talent as not only a producer and multi-instrumentalist, but a conceptual artist as well. Utilizing acoustic and electric elements, the album blends a wide range of influences and styles into a cohesive sound that expand the limitations of genre-bound music. There are hints from all of Dion’s eclectic influences found within these flowing groove-based instrumentals. Experimentation is an essential component in Dion’s process and it is representer here in vivid fluidity. Dion Composed, arranged, recorded and mixed the album while allowing space for guest appearances by other incredible musicians (JeffParker, Bubby Lewis, Adam O’Farrill). All of this comes together to form a remarkable sonic artifact that is simultaneously current and timeless.
