Album Description

On July 3rd 2026 Confusion Project released it’s new album - IDENTITY. The album is
released on a well established New York based label - DOT TIME RECORDS.

According to it’s title, the album is about identity, on 2 separate levels:
The first level is the musical identity of the band, the formula of their playing, which they have
been constantly developing for 13 years. This is an album saying “This is who we are and
how we sound”. The album, although contemporary and modern is not following any trends
or fashions, but instead is focusing on honesty, maturity and nuance.
The second level Is the cultural identity. The band decided to pay an hommage to the beauty
of Polish folk music, especially the music of Mazurka, which for centuries has been an
inspiration for classical, but also jazz composers. The main part of the album is a series of 5
original Mazurkas with characteristic melodic and rhythmic elements of Polish folk music, yet
with modern advanced harmonies, wacky grooves, and bold improvisations, characteristic for
the music of Confusion Project.
All songs are compositions of the band’s leader, Michał Ciesielski.
The album has been recorded in exceptional Monochrom Studio, mixed and mastered by
Ignacy Gruszecki. It is also the first album of the trio, that is available in Dolby
Atmos technology, mixed by Robert Szydło.
The album will be released also on Vinyl.
