Album Description

Hwy 538 is located six hours north of Toronto, Ontario, Canada in the wilderness known as “cottage country”. I was lucky enough to spend each of my summers there at my grandparents’ house on the North Shore of Lake Huron. The memories I made there in nature and with loved ones inspired much of the music on this album. All of these songs are my original compositions, and each title carries a personal meaning. Some compositions draw influence from my favorite jazz standards while others are completely my own. I have been lucky enough to perform this music and now record it with some of my favorite musicians. Their unique voices bring this music to life, and I am grateful for their friendship and incredible musicianship. This album would not be possible without the support of my family, friends, and teachers throughout the years. A special thank you to Richard Baskin, Matt Olson, Debra Richtmeyer, Chip McNeill, and Tito Carrillo.
