Album Description
My objective in organizing this quintet was to have a band of of Metro-Detroiters playing music on an international level. After we did a few gigs around town, I could see that there was something really great going on musically as a group concept began to take hold...it was time to go into the studio. On a lovely spring morning in late April, we went into Pac3 Studios and when we emerged into the afternoon sunlight, we had laid down four excellent tracks. Three months and several gigs later, it was time to finish the project - this time at The Music Hall Jazz Cafe where we went during the day with a remote set-up. When we came out into the steamy late-July-downtown-Detroit-afternoon, I knew we had more than enough material for an album. Once the album came together, I Knew I had been right; this group is on an international level and could play anywhere...and so it is that I am very proud indeed to present to you The Brad Felt Nu Quartet Plus - "First Call".
