Album Description
AINARA means “swallow” in Basque, and like the bird from which it takes its name, AINARA carries music on its wings and sends it on a journey. Ainara presents music with universal roots where cultures collide.
From left to right on stage, six instruments come together, converse, and respond to one another. The combinations of melodies and rhythms work like a grand and formidable spell.
Jazz, traditional music, and improvisation; the intimacy of repetitive chamber music; joyful, noise-infused development; desert-like improvisation unraveling into fury; a Serbian melody tinged with blues... All these elements point to a music where oral tradition and composition blend perfectly...
AINARA is the meeting of the Trio d’en bas and the KEJ trio, an explosive mix.
