Album Description

Difference as intellectual, human, and artistic nourishment... TAKALO means “exchange” in Malagasy. And this creation, born from the meeting between TRIO D’EN BAS and the musician RAJERY, is an embodiment of that!

Here, the free-form music of TRIO D’EN BAS meets that of RAJERY—rooted in Malagasy tradition—a master of the valiha, Madagascar’s iconic stringed instrument, accompanied by his son ZO, a percussionist.

And the result is enchanting, a journey on which we are carried by the deep and delicate voice of the Malagasy singer, supported by the piano, saxophone, and percussion... Ultimately, a concert woven together by five sensibilities in unison, listening intently to one another.
