Italian saxophonist Roberto Ottaviano's latest recording is really about love—not so much the romantic kind, but more about the love that jazz musicians and fans have for enduring compositions written by the likes of Charlie Haden, Abdullah Ibrahim, John Coltrane, Dewey Redman and Don Cherry.

And let's not forget about creative music's love affair with the piano. That's on full display in this episode with several talented keyboardists from around the globe displaying their talents—England's Alexander Hawkins in Ottaviano's band, fellow Brit John Escreet, Alister Spence from Australia, Satoko Fujii from Japan, Finland's Nikita Rafaelov, Lars Fiil from Denmark, Pandelis Karayorgis from Greece, Russ Lossing with Samuel Blaser's Quartet and Poland's Dominik Wania heard on the first four tracks.
