Too Many Zooz at the Metro in Chicago
What stood out just as much as the music was the audience. Unlike a typical jazz show, the room was filled with a much younger crowd, and they were dancing. At one point, the band launched into Caravan and it was hard not to think about the strange continuity of it all: nearly ninety years after Duke Ellington made the tune famous, a packed room of young people in Chicago were dancing to it again, proving that great grooves never really go out of style.
