Omar Sosa

Composer-pianist-bandleader Omar Sosa was born in 1965 in Camagüey, Cuba's largest inland city. At age eight, Omar began studying percussion and marimba at the music conservatory in Camagüey; in Havana, as a teenager, he took up piano at the prestigious Escuela Nacional de Música, and completed his formal education at the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana. Among his influences, Omar cites traditional Afro-Cuban music, European classical composers (including Chopin, Bartok, and Satie), Monk, Coltrane, Parker, Oscar Peterson, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett, Chucho Valdés, and the pioneering Cuban jazz group Irakere. Moving in 1993 to Ecuador, Omar immersed himself in the folkloric traditions of Esmeraldas, the northwest coast region whose African heritage includes the distinctive marimba tradition. He relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1995, and soon invigorated the Latin jazz scene with his adventurous writing and percussive style.

Onur Aymergen started playing classical guitar with Özhan Gölebatmaz and studied classical flamenco with Suat Demirkıran, then interested in rock, funk and jazz music. He played his own compositions in many festivals and music clubs with his quartet and took part in projects with European musicians. His versatility has allowed him to participate in diverse formats from trios and ensembles to orchestras and big bands playing in addition to jazz styles such as Funk, salsa, folk music and rock. Gidi Derzy was born in to a musical family, started piano lessons in age of 6 with classical music till 13, Also listened to jazz, funk, rock & pop at that time. Then he moved to jazz and other geners he started to compose and arrange his own music. In 17 years old he decided to study in a conservatory on Jazz genre. Gidi graduated 2 jazz conservatory's on the first one he played in a local jazz big band of the conservatory in the north of Israel and the second was in Tel Aviv till the age of 25. Along the way he played with different band's and genres like - blues, jazz, fusion, funk, soul, hip hop, reggae, rock, progressive and more. Gidi recorded & produced couple of albums and singles to different artists in Israel includes his own projects.
