Mandy Kemp
Kemp’s passion for performing and diverse musical tastes were evident from childhood. She began classical voice training at age 13, sang with a professional choir at 17, and performed in numerous theatrical productions throughout her native San Francisco Bay Area during her teenage years. She won recognition along the way, including top awards in several vocal performance categories at the California State Talent Competition in 1995. She attended the elite arts high school Idyllwild Arts Academy for her senior year, intensifying her study of musical theater, in anticipation of pursuing a 4-year degree from a college conservatory program

Trained in vocal jazz under Kelly Eisenhower (backup singer for Gladys Knight), Camille has soloed with the premier big band, Synthesis, and was a member of the first 9-girl acapella group to win the International Championships of Collegiate Acappella, the story behind the movie Pitch Perfect. Camille has won solo competitions at festivals and invitationals across the country, and currently plays "Rapunzel" and "Ariel" with Royal Promise Productions. She has performed in over 25 musical theater productions and met her husband when they were leading roles in Beauty and the Beast.

I am the singer in Smooth Duo. I have a deep & rich contralto voice. Smooth and relaxing style. I like to sing softly and emotively. I am passionate about bringing out the feeling the lyrics evoke. My Duo partner Andy plays bongos, congas, blues harmonica plus some sax and keyboards. We specialise in cool background music with a hint of relaxing jazz and blues. We play a selection of music from the Great American Songbook and the cocktail jazz club era plus some 80's classics in the cocktail lounge jazz style, designed to appeal to a wide variety of tastes. We are based in Nottinghamshire, close to the borders of Derbyshire and South Yorkshire. SMOOTH DUO have opened for many 'name' acts, including The Osmond Brothers, Ken Dodd, Russell Watson, Billy Ocean, Lulu, the National Symphony Orchestra, The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and Lance Ellington. We played live at the Granada TV studios for the cast and crew of Coronation Street after the iconic live 50th Anniversary episode and have performed many times for the cast and crew of ITV's Emmerdale.

Bryan's love of music started when he joined band in his teens. He earned a music scholarship to UT and studied classical trumpet. He found his singing voice in his 30s. As a vocalist he has a background in choral music and musical theater, but his main interest is jazz from the great American songbook. He has been a featured guest singer at different venues around Knoxville including the Red Piano Lounge and has earned air time on Kelle Jolly’s jazz jam show on WUOT public radio. Brian lost his eyesight as an adult which makes his story as a vocalist and a musician even more remarkable.

Her latest album Daring Two Be (under La Reserve Records) was made in collaboration with guitarist Tony Davis and features the great Steve Wilson on alto saxophone.
Her first album entitled 'If You Could See Me Now’ in 2019 was considered “(…) sharp, confident and professional” (Martin McFie, All About Jazz), and featured some of New York’s finest musicians Steve Wilson, Ray Gallon, Jay Leonhart, Vito Lesczak and Antonio Ciacca.
Originally from Brazil, she has been a working vocalist from a young age and was a featured singer in the musical ‘Eu Sou Maria (Nativitaten)’, the largest outdoor Christmas project in the world, for an audience of 500,000 people throughout the season.
