Susie Meissner

A major jazz and swing singer, Susie Meissner always seems to have a smile in her voice. In addition to her very appealing tone and impeccable musicianship, the enthusiasm that she displays when she performs is infectious. She always swings and is an excellent improviser yet the lyrics that she interprets are very important to her. "When I perform a song," says Susie, "I want to express the emotions of the words so the listener is experiencing the lyrics the way that the writer intended. I'm never casual about the lyrics." Her skill at reviving and revitalizing classic songs is very much in evidence throughout her finest recording, Tea For Two. Kavita Shah

Kavita Shah is an award-winning vocalist, composer, researcher, and educator who makes work in deep engagement with the jazz tradition, while also addressing and advancing its global sensibilities. A lifelong New Yorker of Indian origin hailed for possessing an “amazing dexterity for musical languages” (NPR), Shah incorporates her ethnographic research on Brazilian, West African, and Indian musical traditions into her original repertoire. Her highly-acclaimed 2014 debut album—the internationally-minded project "VISIONS" (Inner Circle Music/Naïve Records)—was co-produced by guitarist Lionel Loueke. Her 2017 Park Avenue Armory premiere "Folk Songs of Naboréa," an interdisciplinary song-cycle for seven voices, was named by Nate Chinen (WBGO/NPR) as one of the Top 10 Jazz Performances of the year. In 2018, she released "Interplay(Dot Time Records) in duo with bassist François Moutin, with legendary guests Martial Solal on piano and Sheila Jordan on vocals; it was nominated for France's Victoires de la Musique for "Album jazz sensation de l'année" (Jazz Album of the Year). Shah is currently working simultaneously on an album of traditional Cape Verdean music based on her ongoing fieldwork on the Atlantic island of São Vicente and a record of original music for her jazz quintet chronicling the journey to her ancestral villages in rural Gujarat.

Joanne Tatham

Joanne Tatham is a favorite of audiences from her native New York to her adopted home in Los Angeles. Following the release of her acclaimed debut CD "Making Light", Ms. Tatham has appeared frequently in top LA clubs like Catalina's, Vibrato, The Baked Potato and The Cinegrill; at the Annenberg Theater and as a regular guest with the Desert Cities Jazz Band in Palm Springs; and in New York she has appeared at The Town Hall, The Duplex, The Triad, and Feinstein's at Loews Regency. Dave Damiani is an American singer based out of Los Angeles, CA. Lynn Veronneau

Returning to the scene in 2010, singer and Quebec native Lynn Véronneau has been tearing through mid-Atlantic listening venues like a force of nature. She and her new band of world-wise musicians have shared their sparkling jazz-pop sound at club and festival dates in the Mid- Atlantic region and internationally. Their 2011 debut CD, Joie de Vivre, climbed to #9 in the Jazzweek world music chart and went top 10 in many regional jazz charts.
