Riyel

Riyel's debut CD will be released internationally on Summit Records in early March 2010. Summit's library is exclusively distributed by Allegro Corporation. Due to the unique nature of Riyel's brand of jazz, Allegro Corp. & Summit Records will also likely be collaborating with a major distributor in the French Caribbean, thus making the "Kreyol" CD widely available in Martinique, Guadeloupe, Dominica, French Guyana, St. Lucia, Aruba, Haiti, etc... Despite the added distribution to these key territories, this title will always remain a Summit release. BRIEF BIOGRAPHY: Born of a long-running musical relationship & friendship that developed during their still-active tenure with Haitian supergroup Tabou Combo, trumpeter Ken Watters, bassist Yves Abel & trombonist / vocalist Andre Atkins formed the Caribbean / Roots inspired jazz ensemble RIYEL (pronounced ree-YELL, meaning “backstreet” or “alley” in Haitian Creole) roughly a year ago. ANDRE ATKINS is truly an original voice in th emodern trombone world, an extraordinary composer and a powerful vocalist (as he demonstartes on our rendition of the Hector Lavoe classic "Aguanile"). YVES ABEL (“The Fridge”) has earned his reputation many times over as a premier bassist, composer, producer & an overall creative force in the Caribbean music world

The Groovechasers

Born:

The Groovechasers came together originally as a studio band to record an album of original jazz compositions. The sessions were great fun and the resulting CD “Dig a Little Deeper” proved to be very successful (especially in The States, where it has been regularly featured on a number of jazz radio stations and was at No2 in the jazz chart on the original mp3.com), so they decided to keep the band together. They started performing live in 2003 and their exciting performances of original material and jazz standards quickly gained them a reputation for accomplished and entertaining live jazz.

Crash Boom Bang

Crash.Boom.Bang is in loose terms a theatre troupe. We reside at the Flying Monkey Arts Center located in the Lowe Mill in Huntsville, AL. Within the course of six weeks we completely and utterly from the ground up put on a play. These plays are of our own design, written, produced, and performed by us. Then, when we're done, we start all over again. In case you were wondering...this space will probably never be "pimped" considering that is the kind of thing that we do skits making fun of, so this is going to stay as simple as possible...so deal!
