Michael Philip Mossman (born October 12, 1959, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American hard bop jazz trumpeter. Mossman's early career included a tour of Europe with Anthony Braxton in 1978 and tours with Roscoe Mitchell in the early 1980s. He also did session work in the 1980s, for Styx among others. He played with Lionel Hampton, Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, and Machito before joining the Blue Note Records ensemble Out of the Blue in 1985. Following this he worked with Toshiko Akiyoshi, Horace Silver (1989–91), Gerry Mulligan (1992), Dizzy Gillespie, Slide Hampton, Michel Camilo, Mario Bauza, Eddie Palmieri, and the Philip Morris Superband

Dick holds a BA in trumpet performance from the University of Nevada, Reno where he graduated with honors. He has done five jazz recordings as a leader, many more as a sideman and is a co-founder of the Portland-based HeavyWood jazz record label. Dick has had the pleasure of learning from some greats in the Jazz world such as: LeRoy Vinnegar, Lonnie Smith, Ira Sullivan, Bobby Shew, & others. On the Portland scene, Dick, in addition to teaching in adjuct positions at local colleges and working the local recording and show scenes, has played & collaborated with local jazz musicians such as; Dave Frishberg, Alan Jones, Randy Porter, Scott Steed, Rebecca Kilgore, Bobby Torres, George Mitchell, Geoff Lee, Mel Brown, Steve Christofferson, Tom Wakeling

Peter Welker
Welker, the only child of parents who were both working jazz musicians in New York and Boston, first picked up the trumpet at the age of nine. He credits his mother as being the major influence on his life and music career. "She really inspired me," Welker said. "Born blind, she sang on the coast-to-coast Camel Caravan show with Al Pearce and His Gang from 1935 to 1939.” After studying at Berklee College of Music, Welker moved to the San Francisco Bay Area. Rob Diener
Rob has spent the past 20 years as a professional Trumpet player and educator. Mr. Diener has performed all over the country in every genre of music imaginable. He has played in clasical ensembles, jazz groups, rock groups, theater productions, and has even performed for major sporting events such as Nascar. Robert Henke
In addition to his work with the Keith Franklin, trumpet player and composer Rob Henke serves as musical director of The Spirit of Life Ensemble. Rob has worked with a wide array of bands and characters, including Nick Didkovsky's Doctor Nerve, The Tours Soundpainting Orchestra, Gary Lucas, Phillip Johnston, Ray Barretto, The Walter Thompson Orchestra, and Diane Moser's Composer's Big Band. He also regularly performs in Europe with the trio Tricycle, joined by Jody Espina and Rolf Sturm. The group most recently played music to films of Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin at the Savannah Jazz Festival. He has written and performed sketch comedy at the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theater in New York City, and with The Lunatic Fringe in Montclair, NJ. His recording, Footnotes, was funded and cited by the Aaron Copland Foundation.

Sonny LaRosa

Sonny LaRosa, formerly a trumpet player with Sam Donahue, among others, is the director, arranger and nurturer of America's Youngest Jazz Band. It's a big band and the players are from six to 12 years old. Sonny's band is one of the most unique and undoubtedly the only professional sounding SWING and JAZZ bands of its kind in the world. Not only did they recently win a gold medal at the International Music Festival, they were also the youngest jazz band ever to be invited to perform at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. The 23 piece band contains full Sax, Brass, and Rhythm sections with vocalists reminincent of the Big Band Era

Gabriel Alegria
One of the most influential figures on the current jazz scene in Perú, Gabriel Alegria was born into an artistic family in Lima in 1970. Alegria’s grandfather Ciro was Peru’s most famous novelist and his father Alonso is Perú’s most acclaimed playwright.
The Afro-Peruvian Sextet currently tours in support of their latest release Pucusana (August 2010) which includes the singles “Taita Guaranguito” and “Pucusana” representing the Peruvian landó and festejo sounds respectively. The recording includes guest appearances by Russell Ferrante and Arturo O’Farril as well as the band’s permanent members Freddy “Huevito” Lobatón, Hugo Alcázar, Laura Andrea Leguía and Yuri Juárez. The bass chair on the album is shared between Ramon DeBruyn and John Benitez.

Growing up in the Ifa tradition, Donald’s first musical experience was with traditional “African Praise Music” playing the drums and singing. Later he learned to play the trumpet through the Cleveland Hts. School system and quickly gravitated toward jazz.
