Chris "Crash" Clifton

Trombonist and vocalist Chris “Crash” Clifton started to play trombone at the age of 11 as a member of the Whitby Brass band in Ontario, Canada. Chris attended Humber College in Toronto. He played on the S.S. Norway from 1980 to 1986, backing up hundreds of name entertainers. Chris moved to the United States in 1986 to pursue his musical career. Chris won an audition for a trombone position in the Walt Disney World Band and played there from 1987 to 2000. He still continues his employment with the WDW Corporation playing with many bands on property. He also finds time to play with many local jazz bands in the Tampa Bay area, including Dick Maley’s WYSIWYG Jazz Band

Sits in with the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw and the Metropole Orchestra frequently. Has performed with Kurt Elling, Herbie Hancock, Al Jarreau, Christian McBride, Snarky Puppy, Roy Hargrove, the New York Voices, Benny Golson and many other jazz giants. He studied under the direction of Janusz Gabryjelski, who not only taught Luke trombone but also music theory and aural skills. Before moving to the United States in 1994 he had already performed throughout Poland, Germany and Belgium with a youth concert band (Młodzieżowa Orkiestra Dęta Zespołu Szkół Elektrycznych).
