Hannah Barstow (b. 1994) is a pianist, vocalist and composer in the Toronto music scene. As a performer, she is firmly rooted in the tradition of jazz, and is strongly influenced by the classic trios and quartets of Shirley Horn, Ahmad Jamal and Blossom Dearie. As a composer, her jazz, classical, pop, and Latin music influences come through. She composes and arranges for a range of ensemble sizes from trios to women's choirs and big bands. Dan McCarthy

Dan McCarthy is a Canadian jazz vibraphonist based in Toronto. After graduating top of his class from the prestigious jazz program at Humber College, Dan quickly made a name for himself on the Toronto jazz scene, performing with such notable Canadian artists as Ted Warren, Pat Collins, Peter Appleyard, Ted Quinlan, Lorne Lofsky, Terry Clarke, Brandi Disterheft, Laila Biali, and Don Thompson. Moving to New York City in 2004 brought many more opportunities for Dan, giving him the chance to play and record with some of the top jazz musicians in the world, such as Steve Swallow, Ben Monder, Mark Feldman, George Garzone, Myron Walden, Rudy Royston, Thomas Morgan, Mark Shim, Ari Hoenig, and Gerald Cleaver. In March of 2019, Dan returned to Toronto permanently to pursue a Master in Jazz Composition at York University on a full fellowship. He released his first record, “Interwords” in 2006, which was hailed by Geoff Chapman of The Toronto Star as one of the top 10 jazz records of the year

Jesse Dietschi

The worlds of classical and jazz collide as Canadian bassist Jesse Dietschi presents works that defy genre. With credits ranging from orchestral soloist to jazz session player, Dietschi is equally fluent in both musical idioms as a bassist, composer, and bandleader. He has toured globally with artists and groups including the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Nick Maclean Quartet, Tunnel Six, Abraxas, and Ken Lavigne, and is the Principal Bassist of the string orchestra Sinfonia Toronto. Dietschi performs frequently with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Canadian Opera Company as an extra section bassist, jazz bassist, and electric bassist, and has served as guest Principal Bassist with the Niagara Symphony. He will be releasing his debut recording as a bandleader, Gradient, in October 2023.
