MUSICIAN Born:

Todd Mosby

St. Louis based composer, inventor and recording artist Todd Mosby performs genre-defying music — a blend of jazz, classical, and traditional Indian raga — for over 35 years. The contemporary acoustic and electric guitarist is the ONLY guitarist outside of the royal family in India, whose mastered the 20-stringed Imrat Sitar, which he co-invented. India's first family of sitarists dates back 500 years with an unbroken lineage. “My goal as an artist is to introduce new audiences to a hybrid fusion of jazz, classical and Indian music while creating multi-field performances in unique and unexpected venues.” Currently, Todd Mosby is in production of an acoustic guitar based set of recordings with Will Ackerman, founder of Windham Hill Records, a multi-Grammy Award winning Producer and Musician with ZMR (Zone Music Reporter) Lifetime Achievement Award. Mosby's fusion music for the AXIS Band creates great grooves and hybrid styles which cross pollinates rhythms of different genres; Brazilian, R'nB, Pop, Afro-Cuban, BeBop, Rock, Soul, Funk, Middle Eastern and Hip Hop

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
