Tim Shaghoian

Saxophonist/composer Tim Shaghoian was born in Fresno, California. Soft-spoken yet resolute, Tim has developed a unique voice as an improviser and composer. In 2015, he recorded his first work as a co-leader with the avant-garde saxophone trio TTRC. The EP, Sunset EP, was recorded at the famed Los Angeles recording studio Sunset Sound. Tim formed his current California-based quintet in 2018 and recorded his debut album, Gentle Beacons, in August of 2019. Gentle Beacons features 9 of Tim's original compositions and a creative reimagining of the beloved jazz standard My Foolish Heart. The album was released on March 20, 2020 on OA2 Records. Tim holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Performance from the University of Nevada, Reno, where he studied with renowned modern Jazz saxophonist Peter Epstein
