Tai Adelaja

Tai "TMon" Adelaja is a percussionist, sound designer and music technologist from Lagos, Nigeria. He freelances as a studio designer, music producer, sound engineer, arts critic and entertainment writer. He is a trained master of the djundjun (an African bass drum), a competent accompanist on djembe, a global music afficionado and an expert on electronic and traditional musical instruments. Tai is a passionate scholar and champion of themes and concepts in global percussionism especially as they relate to "transAfrican" music. Tai briefly studied African drum and dance with the late great Babatunde Olatunji in 1992 and completed a 3-year cultural residency program with Master Drummer Aidoo Mamadi Holmes' Wo’se African Dance Theater in 2000
